Description | Ganirelix acetate is a synthesized decapeptide compound similar to endogenous gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) (also known as luteinizing hormone releasing hormone, LHRH). It contains a large amount of non natural amino acids and is an antagonist of GnRH. It can competitively antagonize the GnRH receptor of the gonadotropin, thereby mutating the pathway and causing rapid and reversible inhibition of gonadotropin secretion (luteinizing hormone LH and follicle stimulating hormone FSH). Acetic acid plus niarik inhibits pituitary LH secretion more significantly than FSH secretion, thereby reducing the production of sex hormones. | ||
In vitro | Ganirelix acetate is used to prevent premature luteinizing hormone (LH) peaks in women undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART) controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) regimens. |
